still working through my pack of Amitriptyline.
the up side is they seem to work but the down side is that i am mostly tired especilaly in the mornings and i am putting on weight and becoming unfit.
half a tablet gets the balance about right 12.5mg
a full tablet is maybe too much, 25mg but they do work at that level.

Hi
for the last few weeks i have been trying the drug Amitriptyline. This does seem to be helping with the pain, the pain is now less frequent and clears up quicker when it arrrives. The downside is that it leaves you feeling dopey and tired in the mornings a sort of groggy feeeling. you have no energy to do anything, no enthusiasm. this is probably why i have been putting on weight and need to start addressing that problem.
So the choice is - ballache or dopey but a lot less pain.

Well its been a week since i had these drugs and appart from a few hazy mornings I feel great. I only take half of a 25mg tablet and this has helped enormously with the pains in fact its cleared up a lot already. apart from a few aches which when they do occur they dissapear in hours rather than days - lets hope it continues.

I had a bad night but used the TENS machine to relieve the pain
i found thgat YOGA does hep with the pain takes my mind off it all
begining to wonder if a lot of this is down to stress? there is obviuously some scarring and inflamation but this could be exacerbated by stress and tension
anyway see the specialist again in afew weeks for some drugs maybe.

Ultra sound and consultation
Hi
this was a busy week
I got to see the consultant and we went through a few options in terms of drugs.
Surgical intervention rarely works and i am not sure it will work for me so the drug option would be better although i am weary of drugs and their side affects
I could use a pain inhibitor which sounds good or i could use a drug to inhibit the stress - something like prozac i suppose - The symtoms could be exacerbated by stress, tension and anxiety.
So some options to think about when i go back to discuss results.
The ULTRASOUND
this was good as I got to watch the picture - very clear, no lumps or dangerous looking parts. thee are plenty of stripes which are apprently old scars and old bruises which we all have.
Apparently chronic testiculr pain is more common than we think and in most cases theres no explanation. The digital imaging guy said that it could be a nerve problem coming down from the tenth vertabrae which passes through the kidneys and into the testes - i do get a lot of back problems from bad posture and i am guessing this is a link.
anyway i will consider over the next few weeks which drug to use.
In the mean time i am looking at waht sports and activities i can do and cant do - nothing that juggles the balls around - cycling, kicking sports etc, maybe do Yoga, light jogging, weights.
one things for sure - it wont go away.

Weird week
a really painful night of pain and then two days free from any pain and then back again for a few hours - weird
When it's painful I want it cut off, but when its pain free its hard to imagine what all the fuss is about!
I did notice that addrenaline does take the apin away to some extent?

A bad day yesterday, i had o resort to the Ice pack, TENS and ibuprofen, kept me up at night.
I have no idea what bought on this attack as i hadnt done any exercise or stretching today - i really want to get back into jogging and yoga
It was mainly inflamation of the tubes at the back and leading into the scrotom, the epididymus. which reminded me i need to get my referral letter from the doctor before i see the specialist next week - i wonder if he will agree to cutting it off?

This week things have have settled down again. I found the TENS machine really works for me on the lower abdomen area - takes away that burning sensation that accompanies the orchitis epididymitus.

Pain again this week in my right side and right ball
The doc is writing me a letter and i have an appintment later in April at the hospital with a different consultant
The epididimus is still swolen and sore after nearly two years and this pain in the lower abdomen could be linked - could be a hernia or muscle tear.
Its all ok till i move around and then the pian starts - maybe should spend the rest of my life in bed,
